Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC)

JHSC is a course aimed at helping participants to identify and interpret joint health and safety committee member functions and duties and to carry out their responsibilities to promote workplace health and safety.

Prerequisites:

This course is ideal for joint health and safety committee members, work health and safety representatives, and health and safety professionals committed to reducing workplace injuries and diseases. No previous training is required.
 

Certification:

JHSC certification requires full participation and course attendance. Candidates must achieve 70% on a multiple choice exam. Upon successful completion, the participant will receive certification that is valid for three years.
 
You will learn:
  • Use of the Occupational Health and Safety regulations and requirements in Workers Compensation Act Refusal of unsafe work
  • Joint Health and Safety committees and worker representative responsibilities and entitlements
  • Promoting workplace health and safety
  • Accident investigations and reports
  • Safety inspections

Course length:

The duration of the Joint Health and Safety Committee course is 8 hours.
